The stakes

You're reading about agents while the hours bleed.

Every week, the same report, the same intake, the same triage — hours you'll never get back, on work an agent could already be doing. The headlines keep promising what agents will be able to do. Meanwhile the recurring task on your plate next Friday looks exactly like the one from last Friday.

Stop reading the brochure. Build the thing.

What is Build An Agent Day?

One day. One working AI agent.

Build An Agent Day is a one-day, hands-on AI training workshop and a program of All Things AI and All Things Open. It's built for business pros, government leaders, and educators — attendees codify a workflow they own as an AI agent and walk out with a working automation built on Claude Cowork (Anthropic), ChatGPT Agents (OpenAI), or Manus.

Where can I attend Build An Agent Day?

Build An Agent Day visits two cities in Summer & Fall 2026: Atlanta, GA (July 22 at Atlanta Tech Village) and Charlotte, NC (July 28 at the Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City). Each stop is a separate one-day event — see the events page for confirmed dates.

Who teaches Build An Agent Day?

The workshop is taught by Mark Hinkle, founder of The AIE Network and co-founder of All Things AI, with 30+ years in emerging tech (cloud.com, Linux Foundation, Node.js Foundation). Each city stop opens with a keynote from a local economic-development partner.

What AI tools does the training cover?

Three agent stacks: Claude Cowork by Anthropic, ChatGPT Agents by OpenAI, and Manus. Each is taught with a different audience fit in mind — knowledge workers, enterprise IT, and research-heavy roles respectively.

Is this AI workshop suitable for non-technical professionals?

Yes. Build An Agent Day is designed for non-developers — business professionals, government staff, K-12 and higher-ed faculty. If you can write a clear how-to email, you can build an agent at this workshop.

How is this different from an online AI course?

Online AI courses give you concepts. Build An Agent Day gives you a working agent connected to your real work tools, built in a room with peers and an instructor walking every table. You don't go home with a reading list — you go home with something that runs.

Can my employer reimburse the ticket?

Yes. Most employers reimburse Build An Agent Day under their professional development or continuing education budgets. Early bird tickets start at $297 (plus applicable taxes and fees) — well within most PD budgets. We provide a receipt formatted for expense reports on request.

What attendees say

People getting business outcomes with AI.

This is the best day I've spent on learning in a long time. As a complete non-techie, I've already started building my first app using Manus. This event gave me the confidence I needed to get started, even as a person with zero coding experience.
